BACK TO REALITY

Well it is back to reality. We had a busy week and a half or at least the first part was. Between Brayden and I being sick, pictures, the dogs having some air virus that sounded like kennel cough, Bailey break a blood vessel in her ear which called for several trips back and forth to the LeRoy Vet (which is 30 minutes away), packing for four, spending time with family and friends, then leaving for a five day get away. It sounds like a lot but it has been great.

We waited to leave for Mt.V till Sat. in hopes that we would be able to take Bailey with us but they decided it would be better for her to stay a couple of days at the Vet because she had a shunt and she was not clotting. We were a little concerned because we did not plan to be back in town for nine days but, Papa Bill went and saved her and our pocket books on Thursday.

We did not leave on our little get away till Tuesday morning so we got to spend time with a few old friends and family. Emmalee and I even went on a little road trip to West Frankfort on Monday to get the closest thing to a Rusty's Italian Beef that I have found. To our surprise Aunt Jodi was driving through (from TN to MO) at the same time and came to join us and catch up. On the way back home we stopped by Aunt Teri and Uncle Wes's new place. It is so beautiful and peaceful there.

Tuesday morning we got up and headed to the airport with Brett and Jessica and had a very slow calm five days. We actually got to go to the beach with out a big bucket of toys, lay in a lounge until it was too hot, swim without a child clung to your neck, go into little shops with out taking out a shelf or a rack with the stroller, eat two bits of your own dinner with out having to do something for someone else, go to bed when we wanted, sleep through the night with out kids interrupting, and sleep in as late as we wanted, and most important we did not have to change a diaper or make a bottle.

While we were gone the kids got to stay at their Mama's and Papa's. I am sure they had the best time. Doing all kinds of activities and seeing all the family.

Even though we had a grrrreat time we were ready to see our little ones by Sunday. We caught a direct flight and got home a couple hours earlier than we thought we would so we got to surprise them before they went to bed. We headed back, on our three hour drive, home on Monday. On the way out of town we stopped by Sharps and got a Wonder Roast, for those of you from Mt. Vernon you know what a scrumptious treat that is. We were planning on waiting till we got home to eat it but Mike took to long at the orchard and I could not resist. The four of use ate almost the whole thing on the way home in the car. When we got back into town we unloaded the car and Mike took off for the office and then he has a double header tonight. So like I said back to reality.

Sorry no pictures this time. We were on vaction away from the kids. Catch you next week.
